The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of India. Established in 1929 by a resolution of the government, the Board was an experiment towards inter-state integration and cooperation in the sphere of secondary education.

There are more than 27,000 schools in India and 240 schools in 28 foreign countries affiliated to the CBSE. All schools affiliated to CBSE follow the NCERT curriculum especially from class 9 to 12. The current Chairperson of CBSE is Nidhi Chhibber, IAS.

The Department of Elementary Education, NCERT is holding a series of webinars on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) under the MoU between NCERT and National Agency of Education (EDUFI) and GINTL, Finland.

The first webinar will be hosted on “Story-telling as Pedagogy for Foundational Stage”. The theme is drawn from the recommendations of NEP-2020 and NCF-FS 2022 for Foundational Stage. The participants of the webinar will be teachers, teacher educators, administrators, policy planners, students and parents in India and Finland.

Indian stories from Panchtantra, Jataka Katha and epics along with Global stories will be depicted through traditional Indian story-telling techniques like Kavad-Katha, Pattachitra, stories through dramatization and by using String and Shadow Puppets. The webinar is scheduled on 24th November, 2023 from 2:30 to 4:30 P.M. Participants are requested to click on the following link to attend the webinar:
