The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Government of India. Established in 1929 by a resolution of the government, the Board was an experiment towards inter-state integration and cooperation in the sphere of secondary education.
In line with the Government of India’s concerted efforts to elevate the nation’s profile in the global sports arena, several initiatives have been rolled out to encourage youth participation in sports. Reflecting this commitment, CBSE has also mainstreamed Health and Physical Education at the Secondary and Senior Secondary levels by introducing a mandatory period per day for sports, games, etc.
For promoting sports and other educational competitions anong youth, CBSE has been providing the following facilities to candidates appearing for class XIXII CBSE examination along with participating in any such activities.
In doing so, CBSE ensures that students pursuing excellence in sports and academics have the opportunity to thrive without compromising on either aspect of their development.
