CBSE has released a notification on Career Guidance Materials on STEM, non-STEM, Skill and other miscellaneous career pathways!

In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, career counseling is recognized as a vital element of the educational experience. NEP 2020 emphasizes a holistic approach to career guidance, focusing on each student’s unique interests, strengths, and aspirations. By fostering an environment where students are empowered to explore their options, we can help shape a future where each student makes informed and meaningful decisions about their career.

To support this mission, the PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE), NCERT, in collaboration with UNICEF, has introduced an innovative and comprehensive resource to assist students in their career journey. This resource comprises two volumes of Career Guidance materials that span STEM, non-STEM, Skill-based, and Interdisciplinary career pathways, making it one of the most versatile tools available for career counseling today.

The resource includes 500 career cards covering 21 domains, offering a wealth of information that caters to the diverse interests and needs of students. Each career card details the following:

This comprehensive guide represents a significant step towards making career information more accessible, ensuring that every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to explore the full spectrum of career possibilities.

The development of these career materials is a testament to our commitment to empowering students with the tools they need to navigate their future careers confidently. By equipping students with in-depth information on a variety of career pathways, we ensure that they are not only aware of traditional career options but also have the opportunity to explore interdisciplinary and skill-based fields.

In light of the importance of these resources, we urge schools to circulate the Career Guidance Book among students, enabling them to make well-informed career choices. This initiative is in reference to the Ministry of Education’s D.O. 1-14/2024-VE, dated 18.09.2024.

For the convenience of students, parents, and educators, these career guidance materials are available online. You can access the complete set of resources at this link.
