One of the key benefits of incorporating different forms of Technological advancements like Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the classrooms is to provide students with a more personalised learning experience. At the same time AI algorithms can analyse students’ data providing feedback and recommendations to teachers for adapting their teaching learning styles that are tailored to the individual needs and abilities of learners. This is in consonance with the recommendations of NEP 2020 about utilization of advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) for changing the way students learn in classrooms.
Honouring these basic tenets of NEP 2020, followed by National Curriculum Framework (School Education), CBSE has developed and launched a Capacity Building Programme on “Use of Artificial Intelligence in Classrooms” to empower its teachers through Continuous Professional Development. This manual is structured as four immersive sessions, each lasting ninety minutes, which provide teachers with the knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) so they can easily integrate these tools into their curricula and methods of instruction.
The format of the sessions is as follows:
Session 1: AI Unveiled in Education (Concept, Need and Scope of AI in Education) – It delves deeply into
the theory behind and the advantages of incorporating AI into the classroom.
Session 2: AI in Education (its significance and concerns) – A detailed study on the significance and
concerns related to the implementation of AI in classroom.
Session 3: Using AI Tools to Improve Teaching, Learning and Assessment – A comprehensive analysis of
various methods and resources that improve personalised and interactive learning, teaching
and assessment. It will make it easier to include AI technologies into regular classroom
activities.
Session 4: AI in Practice (for Educational Development and Administration in classroom) – It exhibits
practical methods that demonstrate how AI tools and applications can be integrated in real
time, inside an educational setting and for administration.
It was an honour and privilege to have Mrs. Nidhi Chhibber, IAS, Hon’ble Chairperson CBSE, August
group of invitees including the Directors of all CBSE Units and other dignitaries, for the launch of this
Capacity Building Programme in the Inaugural session of “29th National Annual Conference of
Sahodaya School Complexes–2023” held at Mumbai on 08-09 December, 2023.
All the Principals/School heads of the schools affiliated to CBSE are requested to disseminate the information regarding the launch of the CBP and get benefited from this resource through their respective Center of Excellence (CoE).
