This article talks about the CISCE Notification: Specimen Question Papers in Selected Subjects for ICSE and ISC Year 2025. Read Here!
In order to foster the assessment of core competencies in the learners and align with the imperatives of National Education Policy 2020 (NEP), CISCE is commencing the process of releasing the Specimen Question Papers in selected subjects for ICSE and ISC Year 2025 Examinations. These papers have been curated keeping in view the current educational trends and assessment practices and intend to assist and strengthen the teaching-learning community in becoming adept at those practices.
These papers examine the learners in higher order abilities such as Application, Analysis, Interpretation, Evaluate and which have also been mapped in the Specimen Question Papers (except in English Paper 1 (Language). The weightage ascribed to the questions assessing these competencies is approximately 25% for the Year 2025 and will keep increasing steadily in each year of examination until the assessment practices are completely aligned with NEP 2020 recommendations.
Each Specimen Question Paper has been supplemented with an Answer Key which specifies the expected response from the learners. The footnotes given at the end of the answers outline the approach the learners need to adopt to answer the questions. The Answer Key endeavours to encompass all the possible answers to a given question but is not limiting and exhaustive. It is recommended that the answers provided in the Answer Key not be memorised and be referred to with an aim to understand the correct approach.
Please note that the pattern of the Question Papers in the remaining subjects shall remain the same as that of Year 2024 for both ICSE and ISC Examinations.
You are requested to disseminate this information among all concerned and ensure that the teachers in your school download the Specimen Question Papers and prepare the comparable ones for internal use.
